A TRUE PASSION ★ for District 5
I'm a lifelong resident of Charlotte and a product of CMS schools. I have proudly served for years on numerous boards and committees in our community. I also aided in the Woodscape fire relief effort-bringing out local businesses to donate food and water, organizing donation drives, and assisting the American Red Cross in helping displaced families find homes. PROVEN LEADERSHIP ★ for District 5 I'm the only candidate who has already enacted public policy through our City Council. Most significantly, amending our citizens review board ordinance in 2013- giving the review board the power it needed to do its job, passing ban-the-box, and instituting a municipal living wage. As Chair of the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party, I also led over 350,000 registered Democrats to THE most successful expansion of our county party since 1956. GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE ★ for District 5 As managing partner of an award-winning law firm, I’ve stood up for countless indigent clients and engaged with local organizations and churches. I know government proceedings inside and out because I’ve been there, fighting to improve quality of life for our residents. A SOLID VISION ★ for District 5 I’m the only candidate with a PLAN for leading our district to increased economic prosperity (including Eastland Mall and Independence Boulevard-read more here). I will also make East Charlotte transportation a citywide priority. And I have the knowledge, experience and relationships to begin on Day One to turn this vision into reality.
